Question on Seat Cover Install

1 Attachment(s)
Got my new Truck World seat cover and want to install it myself. I expected to
see a pocket for the metal wire to hold the hog rings. Have also seen covers with plastic rod to hold the hog rings.
The cover I got has a black synthetic looking strip of material sewed to the edge where it attaches to the seat frame.
Is the black strip used for the hog rings to attach ?
If so, can someone tell/show best way to do this ?
Thanks

Re: Question on Seat Cover Install

You need to run a wire through the sleeve. I’ve reused my originals with no issue.

Glad to see you got your seat cover. I was told mine was “in stock ready to ship”...apparently that wasn’t the case after all :(

Re: Question on Seat Cover Install

If I recall correctly, the metal rod should slip into the black channel and then hog rings attach around the metal rod through the black material.
EDIT: Oops - sorry, Scott beat me to it :)

You can do it yourself, no problem. Set covers in the sun to warm up, or use a hairdryer to help soften them up to stretch over the foam. Here is one i did about a year ago.

Assembled. If you do it right they look nice and tight, as opposed to wrinkled jeans.

Re: Question on Seat Cover Install

ok now I understand.
I didn't realize that black strip is folded, so I can pop a tiny hole in one end
and slide in the wire from the old seat cover. Think I am good now. At least until my next crisis.
Thank you guys so much !
