Lets see the horn caps you have on your truck and why you chose it over something else. Anything as long as it's on a 67-72 model C 10,20,30 it don't really matter. All are welcome.

Here is what I'm working on for the ramp truck. I hope to have it painted by the weekend. All the other parts should be here by then so I can install it.
This is a custom job that I'm doing + I have parts for my 64 SS Impala I'm going to do also.

I have what I believe after research is a base model 1962 Chevy II steering wheel and horn button. I selected it because, well, just look at it.

I'm interested in this. Being new to the forum and looking for ideas on what to use for a "classic" looking steering wheel for my '71. I just bought it this weekend and want to switch out the aftermarket wheel that is in it, now.

Here is a pic of the current setup:

Welcome to the board.

Grant wheel and adapter it looks like to me.

There are many wheels that will fit our columns and they all are pretty cool looking in my opinion. I have several old steering wheels that I have used over the years in my vehicles. Just about any old 60-70's model GM vehicle steering wheel's will work.
Here are some of mine.
67 Chevelle, 64 SS Impala, 67 truck, Camaro wheel are Corvair wheel.

Thank you! I didn't mean to hijack the thread with this, but I appreciate the feedback. I guess I need to figure out which one to go with, and what I can find.

No problem man. Hope you find something you like. The sure grip steering wheels are also very nice.

OK on the horn caps for the ramp and Impala I have decided to try and use Epoxy Resin to fill up the front of them so they want get scratched up. It should seal them good also.

The steering wheel and chrome blow ring was off a 67 nova. Center cap 66 gmc Going on a van tilt hopefully I can get the horn sorted out when I get to it. I see Andy your Impala wheel is very similar. I might have to pick your brain when I get to wiring the horn.

Well I got all the parts together to finish my little custom horn caps and went to the paint store to have them mix the red viper paint to paint the cap for the ramp truck. Their machine was broke, oh well another delay in finishing them.

I did how ever get the SS Impala horn cap done. I decided to go in a little different route though. Instead of filing down the new emblem I opened up the horn ring for it to fit into. Looks much better and I didn't have to worry about messing up the new emblem while filing it down.

Sinse I've had time to think about it I'm wondering if I should use some clear epoxy to put over the top of the emblems to keep them looking new.

I really liked the looks of the comfort grid steering wheel but could never find a gmc horn button so modify a early 60’s horn cap to fit.

I got the ramp truck ring painted and letting it dry over night before I finish putting it together. I think it turned out great and so did the SS emblem.:chevy:

I finished up the ramp truck steering wheel horn cap install this morning and I think it turned out great. I also started work on the 67 original wheel that came out of the ramp truck cutting it down to 14" diameter and it will also have a custom horn cap.:chevy:
