Supercharged LT Build

Hey guys I have been on the site for a long time and did a thread, 5.3 swap the easy way and I can not believe it has 226000 views! Super cool. I now have a square body and love it. I specialize in LT conversions as a living now. I hope I can help anyone that needs help to get these up and running. The LT's are a bit different but I have done over 50 conversions and tons of harnesses. I have these figured out quite nice. Here is my build. I found it on craigslist in Las Vegas. I feel in love with the patina and it being a cheyenne. The truck ran but not well with its small block chevy. It had bad compression.

I purchased a L83 off of Ebay for 1700$ shipped. Next I bought a 6L80e as well from ebay for 800$. I reworked the harness that shipped with the engine. I decided I need experience in tuning these with cam swaps and got a stage 2 cam from texas speed. I also changed the 5.3 intake from a truck to a LT1. It looks very cool. This is to be my test bed to experiment. I have heard the debate that the LT's must run 70+psi of fuel pressure. I have been running 57psi LS style systems with no issues but decided to install a Gen V LT1 fuel pump with variable fuel pressure. I used a boyds welding tank and dropped the sucker in. Tuning has been quite frustrating since these are very different in they way the computer controls engine. It is a torque based controller and are much more finicky. With lots and lots of testing and tuning I have it very nice. I have put about 3000 miles on it and have done multiple road trips. I came across a deal on a LT4 supercharger and decided to take the plunge into unknown territory and see if I could get it to work. Good news it is it fit and I even got it tuned very nice as well. It is a beast now! Super cool to here the blower whine.

Engine mounts are a 1 off design. I like this design but have not tried to make more sets better engineered yet. It has great clearance and cleared the vacuum pump. The AC would need the frame notched. The frame was cut up due to an attempt to fit a 2016 Camaro LFX V6 engine in it. The LFX accessory drive did not want to fit so I scraped the idea.

Very Cool! Love the truck, looks nice. The desert is way kinder on sheet metal than the Midwest.... I have been planning on building another Nova with an LT1, so been studying these things recently. Did you do anything to the engine before putting the supercharger on it? I also ran across an LT4 supercharger for a decent price a while back, but thought the compression of an L83 would be too high for it?

Even though the L83 has 11:1 compression it is running great with the supercharger. Direct injection is a big benefit to run higher compression without detonation. I am still working my way up in timing at full boost. Currently up to 13 degrees but starting to run out of injector. I have LT4 injectors on the way so I can keep up with the fuel requirements.
