‘67 Pro-Touring Build, LT5
3 Attachment(s)
I have been researching here for years and now have a projaect to share. I bought this truck about 18 months ago from a board member. Things are starting to take shape with the build now.
Goals: Well-rounded truck. Something that I want to hop in and drive regularly, not just on weekends and special occasions (including long drives to GoodGuys events and such), needs to be fun, reliable, comfortable, and as safe as a ‘67 can be. 1/4 mile in the 10’s Capable around an autocross or road course but not to the extent that it compromises the daily usability 150+ mph in the standing mile Still usable as a truck - hauling stuff in the back, towing light trailers, driving over non-paved roads, etc. Some of the key elements: I will keep the patina look. Roadster Shop IRS (fabricated steel 9” center section) chassis based on their FAST TRACK design but modified to use OEM style bushings GM crate LT5 engine (same as new in the new ZR1, not the LT from the ‘90’s) Bowler 4L80e transmission built to handle 1,000 ft lbs of torque Other components are still being decided and I’ll update as they develop. |

I love that truck, and remember seeing it not that long ago. Really looking forward to watching the transformation take place! I’m in for the long haul...
