Cab Corner Body Line Angle

1 Attachment(s)
I've noticed some of these trucks have an angled body line on the cab corner and others do not. My passenger side is the original corner body line and drops some from the door to the back of the cab, but I noticed this replacement corner drops even more. I think I will redo this one, but was curious how straight they are on other original corners.

Now is the time to redo it, you won't ever stop looking at it if you don't...

I have seen this before, but I like the lines straight from front bumper to rear bumper.

Good luck, Rg

You’re right! It’s all I see now. I think they need to be straight . Wonder if I can just splice in the body line and not redo the whole corner.

Now I gotta go look at mine. I never noticed this.

It’s that crooked from the factory?
That body line should continue straight from bumper to bumper.

I think the picture is making it look a little worse than it is. Either your cab is not level and is pulling a slight wheelie - or the camera is tilted a little to the right.... but it would drive me nuts too. Still looks off even with that consideration.

I had to look at mine also. It is straight towards the back. Mine also has trim right there. It would stand out on mine due to the trim. Without trim it would barely be noticeable.

The picture does make it look worse than it is, but it doesn't run straight. This pic is of the Goodmark replacement panel. My factory body line on the passenger side drops as well, but not as bad. I ordered 2 new panels today. I will correct them both because they will drive me crazy.

I did look at a lot of pictures and have seen several that slant down. I'm assuming these are ones that have been replaced. Less noticeable on the step sides and trucks with trim

Received the two new corners today from LMC. The body lines go down and are not straight.

Cut that part off or fix it. I had to correct the door jamb edge which would level that line off.

I went 1" below that body line when I installed new cab corners in my '72. And the aftermarket cab corners are garbage, but they are all that is available. So ya gotta make 'em work.

Me too. I didn’t even get close to that line because on the tri plus corners i used the lines weren’t near as crisp and they were crooked like the ones above. I was always taught to use the least amount of patch possible when doing this kind of work.

Tony, that’s some hellacious metal finishing! Awesome work as usual!:metal:
