Door Window U-Channel Installation

I'm replacing the U-Channel seals on the door windows and I can't remember exactly how it goes together. The replacement kit has no instructions.

It doesn't seem like the U-Channel seal should fit into the U Frame on the vent window support side, however it will need to be forced in, and before I do that and bend the seal, I need some guidance.

Also the replacement kit comes with two strips of adhesive backed felt with instructions to cut to 34 inches, but I have no clue where this would go.

The U-channel will fit in the division bar, but it's tight. I inserted a piece of 3/16" steel into the U, then hammered on that to force it into the division bar. That spread the force and kept it from distorting. Friction may hold it, but I added weatherstrip adhesive to the channel before pounding it in.

The adhesive-backed felt goes on the inside window frame molding, and rubs against the glass. I augmented the adhesive with tiny rivets.
