fuel tank motorhome
 

I just bought a 1997 Fleetwood pace arrow motorhome with a vortec 454 its been in a storage yard for 6 years I had it towed to my house because it was not running and when I got it home to see why it doesn't run I put batteries in it and could hear the fuel pump running but it was out of gas so I put in 5gallons and tried to start it well when I did a couldn't hear the fuel pump it just quit I checked the fuel pressure it has none so I crawled under this thing thinking it had a 35 gallon tank well it aint no small one its huge any ideals what it would take to drop the tank and replace the fuel pump would help thanks

Would never have wanted to try to pull the tank from any motorhome I have had they hold around 60 gallons. I would do a lot of double checking before I poled the gas tank, you might try a couple of transmission jacks depends on where the tank is at if near the outside a forklift and sum blocking??????

I used an atv/motorcycle jack the last time I did a tank on an rv.

Is your fleet wood on a workhorse chassis? Fuel tank behind the rear axle? I would bet that tank is 50+ gallons. If it’s on a workhorse chassis, there will be a tag somewhere with all of the gm rpo codes. You’ll be able to determine your fuel tank size then.

Check for spark too.

its a workhorse with tank behind the axle I can just barely get under to see it I first thought was a 35 gallon tank but its huge looks more like a 100 gallon tank

My last 2 were 60 gallons, fords are 70 they don’t get as good mpg

Mine have all been between 75 and 90 gallons. I used log cribs (crossed and stacked 4 x 4 timbers) to lower mine gradually. You need to drop them quite a bit to clear the frame rails.
