Cab Band Rivet/screw location

I am wanting to add a cab band to my 1985 K 30. Could someone help me with the measurement /location of the rivets that hold the cab band on? Thanks

I would think the you could evenly space them out along the back of the cab. Once you put the clips on the rivets, the cab molding just slides onto the clips. Maybe this pic from LMC will help.

And this YouTube video may help too. It shows on and off, of the moldings, but at least you can see the rivets and clips, and how they work. And BTW, I use YouTube a lot when I’m working on my truck. Pics and videos help me more than anything.

I am looking for the measurement for the rivet from the bottom of the window so i can get the height of the trim correct.

Ok sorry about that. If you don’t get anything, I can always measure my trim, the clip rivet probably goes in the center of the trim.

Watched the video again, that’s not going to work. There’s actually 2 studs for each clip

Hey CrewCab, I'll try to get over to where I store an extra cab and take some measurements, but it's an 80 cab, which has different trim but might be the same mount locations. can anyone confirm?

Well I ended up at the cab storage spot so I got a couple numbers for ya. Remember this is a 80 cab. One thing I found is none of the pairs of studs match each other, each measures a little different. but best guess is 7/8" from the start of the back of the cab, and 2" apart from each other. Plus 8 3/4" from pair to pair.

I can also measure where the trim sets on my 85 if that would help.

Edit: I'm sorry for the duplicit pic's, not sure whats up with that.

No problem,
just remember this is off an 80 and I don't know if the band width is different then your 85. And looking at LMC's catalog they list different clips for the two age groups.

73-80 & 81-87 two different width and clips for the year break down.
The easy way to do this is get you molding and clips. Use masking tape to show your top of the molding clip, find you top under the window of your molding. Measure space between the clip holes center. measure space on clip top to the bottom including the space edges then make off you cab back with masking tape center them on the hump panel in the space of where your molding will go. Do not forget to set up the sides too test fit. ** you need the clips to for the spacing rivet stud. For the set up for what ever your setting up your cab for Molding 73-80 or 81-87 clips to match molding your using.
