Update - after checking the interwebs the consensus is 75-76 C3 Corvette.
They are the same part number with no accessory mounts, 336711 RH. It is a chore getting to the inside bolt on each side. I got tired of painting them so I had them ceramic coated. Also, I am using aftermarket alternator and AC brackets so I did not need the LH with the accessory bracket mounts. |
Re: Corvette 2.5 ram horn manifolds question
You can be done but it helps to have a smaller starter. On one truck I used an 88 and up starter because it’s shorter and smaller diameter and I’m using a mini starter on the next one I’m doing.

Re: Corvette 2.5 ram horn manifolds question
I did the Summit brand 2.5 Rams Horns in my 71 Suburban. Bolted up just fine, no issues other than having to make a new spacer for the AC bracket that attaches to one of the bolts.

I have the same truck/transmission as you. I did the Speedway Ram horn Corvette style exhaust manifolds.
https://www.speedwaymotors.com/Smoot...ack,94197.html They work well. I had to figure out a new alternator mount, but other than that, everything worked and had clearance. |
Re: Corvette 2.5 ram horn manifolds question
Those aren't just for Corvettes. I had a SHP 327 in my '64 Impala and it had those 2.5" outlets.

Guess my question is exhaust pipe clearence / routeing, any issues

Re: Corvette 2.5 ram horn manifolds question
You cut the generator mount off the Speedway manifolds, grind smooth and coat with Eastwood manifold dressing and you can use the stock truck alternator mount.
The turn from the manifold outlet to clear the crossmember is tight but a good muffler shop should be able to make it work. With motor installed in the further back 6 cylinder position there is no interference for pipes. |
