High build primer
So i I think I'm ready for 2k primer. What I've done is media blasted then epoxy coated then body filled then I used glazing putty ,blocked it all. My question is when I block sand and use guild coat on the 2k do I respray the low spots? Assuming I will get down to the body filler on both sides of the low spot. Or do I add filler?

Re: High build primer
Depends on how low the low spots are...what type of glazing are you using?.....on mine I sprayed epoxy over my filler work then sprayed the high build...if it was really close I'd use evercoat metal glaze on mine...but only thin coats..

Re: High build primer
Ya good point I figured I would respray the bare spots . I think it's pretty flat but I guess I will know when I start sanding . So you added more filler in the lowes?

Re: High build primer
Yeah , I just skimmed the lows..but its important to get the panel as flat as possible before you ever start filling..

Re: High build primer
The proper steps are as follows:
1. hammer and dolly/welding/grinding - metal work in other words 2. epoxy primer 3. body filler 4. finishing putty 5. 2K high build primer 6. paint Think of it this way; heavy coarse work first, then epoxy primer for corrosion resistance, then work your way up through finer and finer products until you get to paint. Perhaps nsb has a better way of doing it? |
