I just installed this on my truck ...

Well worth the $30.

Keeps the gate from slamming open. Cheap, easy, and nice to have.

Can you still remove the tail gate? It looks like it interferes with the cable to remove the gate.

I have a home brew gate keeper so easily removing the gate is not on the menu. I like it that way.
It keeps my tailgate on my pickup truck... not making money or a free replacement tailgate for some odious ner-do-well lout.

You'll have to remove the nylok nut that retains the bed end of the strut. Not a real big deal in the grand scheme of things IMHO. You may feel differently.

If you take off your tailgate regularly it's probably going to become a pain in the rear for you... one of those things you'll have to weigh the pros and cons of for yourself.

I like it! Would something like this work on the 67-72?

You can remove the tailgate but you would have to take the shock off...

For me it wasn't an issue. Tailgate e never comes off. :metal:
