I just bought a 1965 Big back window cab, with factory in dash air.

It has been sand blasted, and all the rust areas have been repaired, it seems

very solid.

What do you think ??

What is this bracket for on the firewall where the master cylinder would mount ?

It doesn't look to me like it was blasted. At least not the entire cab.

Very nice start.
I would pop the top ( remove the spot welds on the gutter)
Do the to inner cab to stop the rust between the top and the top of the cab
Also insulation if I was keeping it .
Or do it and document the repair for the next owner
That job is a bit of pain but well worth the effort
..... still al in all a great start to a solid build

....... sP

Does the factory booster bolt up directly to this bracket, or is there another piece?
Also is the brake pedal the same for power brakes, and manual brakes ?
I know that on some early Fords, the pedal is different.

No. There is a bracket and linkage assembly that bolts in between that bracket and the booster. The pedal assembly is exactly the same whether manual or power brakes.

If I remove the bracket, can I use your (Captain Fab) bracket.

If I use your bracket, will I have to drill a hole 1 inch lower, in the pedal?

That's the bracket you want, it turns the booster away from the motor slightly, the booster itself is an over the counter part form parts house and the linkage is easy to find. That bracket itself is extremely hard to come across now.

My booster brackets fit all stock firewalls. I replied to your other question in the for sale thread.
