4L80e?

Thinking about doing a Tranny swap to my truck in the future. Long term placing a LS in my Truck. That being said I am thinking about doing a 4L80e first. Yes I know the 4L80e needs a computer and will not work with my 350 straight out of the box,

I am pretty sure Gearstar, overhaul's, and makes a pretty good transmission. Are there others who do a complete rebuild and make a good complete 4L80e rebuild?

I do not need a "Gearstar", just a good strong unit.

I could build you a 4L80E, Just not interested in dealing with Freight Companies. You could pick it up in Fort Worth, Texas or arrange your own shipping, I will strap it to a pallet. PM me with a HP/Torque goal if interested.

I scanned through you're thread linked in you're sig......I didn't think 1973 models had Drip Rails & yours obviously does???

Hi thanks for the offer. Ft worth is a long way from me.

Our family has owned the truck since it was 2 years old, so my guess is the drip rails came from GM or the dealer put them on before it was bought.

Get ahold of PerformaBuilt or Jake's Performance. GearStar is overpriced for what you get.....Some of their units a pretty sloppily built from what I've seen.

If I remember correctly, the drip rails on my '80 short wide were stainless steel and screwed on at the factory. My truck was a Cheyenne.
