What to do: 4 seams around the windshield frame
 

I am tackling my windshield/drip rail right now on my '67. I had water getting in around the gasket, as you can see in the photos. The fit up around the drip rail/roof/windshield is pretty poor and the factory seam sealer is barely there/in the wrong spots and very porous.

I think that the water was getting in behind the seal through the frame seams (follow the rust).

Is there anything that folks do to improve on these areas? I have 2 part seam sealers, a welder, and short strand body filler at my disposal.

You need to clean out all the old seam sealer and rust then epoxy primer before new seam sealer and paint sum times you need to seal behind the new rubber if it doesn’t conform to the body

Here's how I would deal with that and how I have dealt with it in the past. Clean it up best you can acid wash all the bare steel. Apply two coats of the aluminum pigmented permanent rust sealer. This'll seal up the pinholes and seems from further leakage and level up the pitting. This will put a waterproof and airtight seal over your repair. Prime it with your epoxy primer and paint. My general rule of thumb is anywhere it rusted in the past like cab corners is likely to rust again in that area. When you combine a base primer that is airtight and a epoxy primer then a urethane top coat this is the most anticorrosive system in the industrial coatings industry.
