71 Blazer Rear Splash Shields
 

Does anyone have any detailed pics of their rear splash shields on a jimmy or blazer? I am having a real problem getting good fitment. I do have new quarters. Am I going to have to slice and dice splash shields to make them fit. Thanks in advance!

Can you post photos of what you have and if possible ones that show what the issue is with fitment? Not sure this is useful but there are some C-channel type brackets that are needed for attachment if I recall.

The 69-72 Blazer and Jimmy both used a metal channel / bracket to fill the gap between underside of bed and the rear splash skirt. It attaches to the bottom of cross sill and the top of the rear splash shield then bolts to it. This part is not however reproduced so you'll either need to use your originals or have a metal shop fabricate them for you.

Thanks everyone! Thanks GMC Paul for the photos! Part of my problem was the c channel (wanted to confirm that was what it was for) and the other is the outside line of the splash shield. Since my quarters are in new paint and damn near perfect (From GMC Pauls) my original splash shield did not follow the line along the inner wheel wall (gaps). Long story short, in the process of tweaking splash shields and grinding and add a little weld. Once I have fitment finished I will send pics.

You bet.

Just to clarify, are you saying the contour of the repro quarters don’t match that on the OE splash shields?

Yes. Just the contour 'lip' of the quarter. And to clarify, I am being picky. There is about a 1/8" gap between the line of the splash shield and lower lip of quarter. Quarters are awesome reproductions and I highly recommend them! I bought them from GMC Pauls.

I fitted everything prior to paint but the splash shields. It's a learning process. I am just adding a bit of weld to the splash shield to get the shape right. Don't even want to touch quarters since they are in paint lol.

I don’t know if this means anything but LMC sells the splash shield with a note that it fits OEM bedsides only. Something about aftermarket? I have NOS bedsides in my shop if you want me to take a pic of that area tomorrow. Sounds like you have it figured out though

Thanks. I did not know they were being reproduced. I do have it figured out now. Just some grinding and welding. The good thing is that they are heavy gauge steel so not too bad.
