Sandalwood spray paint match

Has anyone found or had any luck with a rattle can color that matches the sandalwood color for the steering column? Thanks!

Yes. I take a sample to my paint supplier and they custom mix the vinyl dye or paint in a spray can

I wish the places around here still did that. They can match, but no longer offer the rattle can. Apparently the machine that does that is very expensive and they had too many returns from people thinking they could go home with a can and create a factory paint job. So, in the end they just stopped offering it.

I was hoping someone had luck with another off the shelf can/color that was close. I'm still looking, maybe something will turn up.

Most hardware stores have a pressure sprayer with a glass jar. You put your paint in the jar & it sprays just like an aeresol. It comes with a cap you can put on the jar & keep it for future use.

I have used that type sprayer on many smaller pieces. Should work fine for a steering column.

Yep, I'm familiar with those, just thought someone might have found something close without mixing.

I've bought spray paint cans that match my orange truck from this place. They list this light sandalwood 515 on their website. You have to select "aerosol" from the drop-down list. I'm not sure if this is the specific color you're looking for, but if it's not, they probably can mix up whatever you need.

This is as close of a match that I found
Painted a steering wheel to match column
Of 1970, what is called out ‘Gold Vinyl’ on spid
Which meant It came with Sandalwood wheel

O'Reilly's here has two locations that can make the spray cans for you if you have the paint code. Don't expect them to do any creations as the kids there can only go by what they can look up. I shot a lot of bolts on my frame using their rattle cans they mixed for me.

Thanks Chevyland. That's exactly what I need to do too. Sandalwood wheel has evaporated and I need to paint a black wheel. I also want to redo the column at the same time.
