Wtb nos short bed box sides
Shot in dark figured I might as well ask, never know if someone has given up on a project or has put away for a future project. Would hate not to ask then see I missed out on here.
Looking for NOS RH & LH short bed box sides and other bed pieces. May consider aftermarket as well if available. |
Re: Wtb nos short bed box sides
Been a decade or so since I've seen NOS Short Bedside on any sale site. In a similar situation with my SWB bedsides. Floor and inners are good, outer skins has a lot of Bondo. I was going to look and see if outer skins are available and just reskin. Had a friend do that with a Blazer, bought AM complete bedsides, remove outer skin, put them on his OE inner bedsides. Alot of work, came out nice, but was what he wanted.

Re: Wtb nos short bed box sides
I realize it's a shot in the dark but figured why not give it a try? There are many folks out there that have collected parts for that project they never found or started. The ambitions of that dream project is now a past thought therefore maybe just maybe they are thinking of selling.
They then run across a want ad like this and think on it more and BAM they reach out and a deal is made. ...... .OK I was just dreaming anyway you never know until you ask. |
Re: Wtb nos short bed box sides
You never know and it doesn’t hurt to try. I found a set of an OS Blazer bedsides on this forum. It was expensive but it was a great transaction. They should be getting installed in the next month or two.

I would pay GOOD money for the short bed NOS parts. I would bet that there are members on here that have these parts but thinking about using them or have been saving for another project. This could be the post that ages them think twice about selling then? Never know until you ask. Kinda reminds me of the neighbor that has the truck sitting in the yard back by the barn that you stop to ask if its for sale and your told no I'm going to restore it someday . Days turn into months and months into years and now it has a tree growing up through the engine compartment or collapsing in half because of rust. That happens way too often it seems. |
Re: Wtb nos short bed box sides
The hope is there. I just sold a pair of 68/72 nos long bed sides. Still in the boxes. Still have a pair of 68 front fenders in the boxes. The parts are out there. Just have to be patient and the parts gods will help you. Don

Re: Wtb nos short bed box sides
I bought a pair of 68-72 short fleetside bedsides from my local GM dealer in 1983 but the right hand side was discontinued by that time and they had to do a dealer locate search for it. Only two RH sides were found in the dealership system anywhere in the USA and I bought one and drove to that dealership to pick it up. I had a buddy Jason and his father hardcore GM fanatics on this board around 2007's that I sold them too for his NOS 72 project. I delivered them to Texas to him still factory wrapped and strapped and he wanted to open them before taking them. They were absolutely pristine with the old GM labels affixed. That said I honestly have never seen a true NOS pair for sale anywhere in all my truck parts dealings before or since. Kick myself ever since too. lol

Re: Wtb nos short bed box sides
The GM dealer receipts were there in my shop at one time not long ago when we moved from York. The short bedsides were about $275 each as I remember. I didnt buy the new doors as there were rust free $100 complete doors all over in the 1980s because if I remember right the 72 doors is all we could get by then and they were over $400 each list new. I bought so much stuff the dealer eventually gave me 30% discount on everything.

Amazing!

Re: Wtb nos short bed box sides
Holy grail there. Keep all the original GM labels and I always try to glue them back on the backside of the panel after restoration or left in place and taped around for some awesome documentation of the restoration. I betting that RH boxside has the older GM label with white and black numbers.

Re: Wtb nos short bed box sides
Wow! That is a top pocket find! That will add some real value to your build. Congratulations!

Re: Wtb nos short bed box sides
I'm actually not surprised that they can still be found.
If I owned them I would never have a project worthy of them. |
