Question about round headlights on a 1990 front clip
So I bought a 75 that has a 89-91 front clip (not entirely sure what exact year). I want to get this looking as original as possible, with the round headlights. I read that the only way is to swap the whole clip 6bit given the mods already made by the previous owner to get a later model clip on it, I'm looking for other solutions.
Is there *any* other way of getting round headlights (and bonus points for older grill style) onto this truck? Is there a year that I can source headlights from and do some less extreme fab/mod work to get the result? Cheers Alex |

The front end swap would be the easier task.
What did they do for hood hinges? |

They put in some 87s by the looks, welded in. Terrible is I live in NZ so the clips are hard to come by...

It will be a complete fabrication project. There's no factory parts that will let you put round headlights in a 81-88 or 89-91 radiator support and grille.

Re: Question about round headlights on a 1990 front clip
Don't know of an easy way to do it but a 4000(5.25") series halogen/LED round headlight bulb might be an easier fab job then the later 6012/6014(7") series.
The 4000 series were often done as a 4 bulb set, 2 with low/high and 2 with high only. If you know someone with a 3D printer, they might be able to make a cover plate for your fab job. |

The 81-91 grille is flatter across the front.
The centre section of the nose protruded past the headlamps on the 73-80 |
