I have a 66 half ton with a messed up spindle the only spindles I can find are on 3/4 ton and 1 tons. Are these spindles the same or am I going to have to hunt down a half ton?

Re: 66 spindle
I believe the stock drum brake spindles are different between the series.
If you were thinking about going disc brakes, now is the time to do it. If you're planning to stick with the drums, you can check with Aspen Auto (https://www.aspenautoaz.com/) or you could become a subscribing member of the site and post a WTB on the parts section. The stock drum spindle for a 1/2 ton is the same from 63-70, so availability is fairly decent with all the conversions to discs |

If you have a bad spindle, now is the time for the update to discs unless you have quick & easy access to a replacement unit. |

If you do decide to stay with the drums, at the very least, you should consider switching to the 67-70 master cylinder that has two lines if you haven't already. The additional safety from having separate lines for front and rear is worth the swap. |
Re: 66 spindle
Wish you were closer. I got a pair of stock drum spindles I took out of my 67. I’d give you what you need unless you want to do disc brake.
