What is the most common interior color?

What color interior is the most sought after? I would of thought it would be black. Black goes with anything, right? My interior is dark saddle and I can't find nothing. All the vendors only have black or green. I was wanting to put a bench seat in my 69 CST 10, but can't find any covers. Did covid bring everything to a screeching halt? So what is the most wanted color interior everybody is looking for? What is the most popular color?

Technically speaking, nobody knows what the most common interior color actually ordered was. I'd agree with jimjam that it was most likely black - because black was recommended for all paint colors (except 506 dk olive according to the data book, for some weird reason - it could of course be special ordered though).

Nobody can really answer the most desirable/most sought interior color question because nobody knows - every buyer will have different tastes, as will each person that might try to answer your question. I think black is sought for mere commonality if a buyer wants to change paint colors - but non-black colors tend to be viewed as a bit more unique/special (my 2 cents only). I guess if you want to boil it down to what interior colors were offered with the top-of-the-line trim level of the Cheyenne Super, it was only blue, olive, and parchment for options - nothing else (for bench seats).

Most common? I imagine it depends upon the year. Amongst 1967 models it seems like nearly truck I have seen has a Fawn interior.

I have personally seen very little black, but I bet it is more typical now that you can do color changes with repop interior parts.

I personally love Saddle, it goes with nearly everything and I think it ages well.

Who knows? I go by what I want or need. I go two ways, keep everything as built or build my own personal truck like I could have when they were new. Then I match whatever colors I want for the look I'm after. I seem to like Saddle the most, but I love the look of black or Parchment and I like the interior that corresponds with the body color, like blue on blue, green on green, red on red. I guess you are running into supply chain issues. Keep looking or wait for the color you want.

I guess I was responding to the title of the thread rather than your concern.

Here is one from PUI that doesn't seem to be out of stock. Unless you try to buy it and they tell you otherwise that is.

It seems like a lot of upholstery is made to order and will take forever to arrive, best to order now.

Yes saddle seems to be pretty hot right now.
When I couldn't find a dark saddle seat cover in stock anywhere else, these guys at Southern KY Classics had one. But I would call & ask/place order like that to be sure.

Re: What is the most common interior color?

I checked with both places. Southern Kentucky don't have any and they get their covers from PUI. PUI said that the saddle and dark saddle are very sought after and it would take 8 weeks to make it. Covid hit them hard and they can't find good help to stay.

If you search around on this forum you will find that 8 weeks is actually pretty good. If they said 8 weeks it probably means 12, and that is pretty good, too. Some people are waiting 8 months for stuff.

For 1972's I would think Parchment would be top of the list or at least close.
In part due to Highlander models and maybe that's because it's what catches my eye as the best looking IMO.

I've owned three of these trucks. Two were originally 503 Green inside and out; the third was red inside and out. An admittedly small sample.
