Re: 72 Below Eye Mirrors
The upper arm looks like what is on 70s G-series vans. I used those brackets with a 1.5" stainless spacer on the upper arm to make it work with my truck, before I ended up getting some proper DG4s.

Re: 72 Below Eye Mirrors
Yeah, the upper arms should be straight like in Mark's pic. Yours have a twist that I'm not familiar with. And your elbows may be aftermarket, judging by the bolts (instead of studs with acorn nuts.
Looks like you might have a mix of assembled parts. |
Re: 72 Below Eye Mirrors
These are a bit later G-series mirrors. That Van body ran from '71 way past these trucks. At some point mirrors stopped using acorn nuts on studs and went to bolts into threaded hole, as shown on these

my 72 C-20 DG-4 mirrors are just like Mark's.mine have Napa aftermarket elbows so they came with stainless bolts, not studs and acorn nuts.i was going to change them to 3/8's studs but the threads are metric.they'll do until i find another correct arm.i had 1 broken but there's a date on the glass might help you know at least what the mirrors themselves are?

I’ve been looking for a set in white for my k20 and have come up empty who would have thought that these mirrors would be my nightmare lol

Re: 72 Below Eye Mirrors Mystery Solved 60 G Serious
My question then - can G Series mirrors be mounted on C10 trucks?
Thanks I want to verify before I list them. |
Re: 72 Below Eye Mirrors Mystery Solved 60 G Serious
Seems at some point I read a thread that they can be used on the pickups and actually tuck the mirrors in a bit tighter to the body. Wish I had replied to the thread so I could find it again. It was an older thread, don't remember who the member was that supplied the info. I have a driver quality set of those same mirrors painted white. Bolts on the mirror arms, no studs or acorn nuts.

I wonder if everything is the same (heads definitely). I have '72 truck mirrors I can get measurements from to compare length of lower arms and how far spread. I looked up '69 ChevyVan pictures and see two types of below eyeline mirrors that look original. Both have longer lower arms, same as pre-72 trucks. The longer arms reach almost to the bodyline and the shorter ones come to 3-4" above. I haven't seen any with the shorter '72 style arms |
