72 SWB 6 cyl Exhaust

Got a LMC 36-5510 exhaust kit for my B day from my kids. Had the original system which needless to say was rusted. The old muffler was fulll of rusted, broken-down internals.

Put the truck up the other day and hit all the nuts/bolts involved with PB. I intended to Sawzall the old system off but wanted to retain the stock hanger clamps. All bolts and nuts came out without much of a fight. Laid out old & new exhaust and the new appeared to mirror the old one is size & shape. The kit came with U bolts and hangers. I just used my existing hangers as the included ones required a different attachment to frame and mine were fine. Just cleaned them up with the wire wheel.

It was nice to read "made in MN" on the box the muffler was in. Mockup was straight forward, and I used the included clamps to hold it in place and my neighbor rolled over his tanks and welded it in. Always good paying with beer

Fit was good. Pipe tucks up better than stock. I cut off about 6" of the tail pipe as I felt it was too long and put on the chrome tip (not included in kit)

Sound is stock with a slight tone while accelerating which for me is what I wanted. I chose the "turbo" vs glass pack muffler kit. I have other hobby cars with headers and louder exhaust but this 6 cyl is just a cruiser.

Nice, clean looking job! I'm hoping to make it to the next meetup at the Firestone parking lot to see it in person. First it was no seat in the truck because I had it in the garage doing the upholstery, then my back was jacked (old man picking up a truck seat), then I had a cold (not bringing contagion to anyone) and now my wife's back is messed up. She wants to go on a cruise with her quilting friends and is looking into a motorized scooter/wheelchair.
