Half cab

I had been working on getting a half cab for my Blazer for a long time. I had been talking to someone who had one but he was in Tennessee and with me taking care of dad there was just no way of getting there to see and buy until now.

I am hoping to get a few more months driving time by using this and it will hopefully be easier to install, store, and remove. I hope it survives the 1100 mile trip home. I’ll post pictures when installed but that could be a while.

I look forward to seeing it installed. Who made it?

Looks great! I noticed yours doesn't have a sliding window, is it a regular truck backglass in it? My slider is missed up but I'd like to fit the regular backglass in it.

Thanks, Rg

I am sorry but I do not know the answer to that question but I sure would like to know is I wouldn’t mind putting a slider in this if it was possible. Maybe somebody else knows the answer to that question.

Mine is a MTP but yours looks a little more squared off at the back of the roof, so I don't think it is a MTP

On the brochure I posted below it says same back glass.

I bought this while I was down there.

There is a two car garage on the side of the house not shown in those pictures. And that one car garage you could actually drive in and park a second car in and there is a large area for tools and a workshop all around.

Rare in that area but it has a full basement. Half of that house is workshop and garage in the basement and the other half of the basement is a few nicely finished rooms. There’s even a half bath in a slop sink in the basement

After years of taking care of dad it’s time to do something for me and get out of this place called Massachusetts. I bet it’s six months before I’m fully moved and everything’s taken care of. I’m negotiating with the previous owner for keeping his zero turn mower. And it’s a saltwater pool and my friends that live down there said they’re not as high maintenance as a chlorine pool. I’ll let you know when I find out first hand. I wasn’t looking for and I didn’t really want to Pole but I’m not upset that it has one. There’s two spare bedrooms with a bathroom between them. Once I’m all finished you’re welcome to visit or stop on your way somewhere else anytime sir.

I literally hate it here! Massachusetts where Lexington, Concord, Bunker Hill, the tea party, the shot heard around the world. Massachusetts where freedom began and ended about 30 or 40 years ago

It came out of greenback Tennessee and the guy has owned it for years. So I would say no?

Cambridge was fun for the time I lived there but have to agree w you guys. Seat of the American Revolution. I visited all the historic sites. Not many Southies like Kenny left :)

First of all let me say, I mean no disrespect by this question...
What is the obsession with a half cab for a Blazer?
It essentially converts it to a single cab pickup and leaves the entire rear area exposed to the elements.
Also it's ironic that Greenback TN was mentioned....I live about 6 miles from there. The entire town is all of 2 blocks long...but...they do have a post office...

Re: Half cab

I mean no disrespect either sir. I bought it for me. The soft tops can be noisy and cold in early spring and late fall. The half cab is much lighter than the factory fiberglass full top so it should be easier for me to install by myself. With it installed I might get a couple more months use out of my Blazer.

I generally don't drive my Blazers in the rain. In the odd circumstance I do get caught in the rain with the bed exposed I am 61 years old. How much time do I have left? I doubt I will be alive if and when it rusts out. Someone else's problem when I am gone.

I appreciate your response...too often people take offence to a comment that's not meant to be offensive.
I thought it was likely for ease of removal/install.
I have a soft top for my '72 and yes it's kinda noisy but with the heater on high, it's tolerable even in cold weather....but....
I live in Tennessee so "cold" is a relative term....
BTW....I'm 66 so struggling with the factory top can be, let's say "challenging"....
I carry a tarp in my '70...just in case...

I run a soft top year-round. It was 2 degrees here Tuesday morning. It's a bit colder than Tennessee... When I put my Blazer together I upgraded the squirrel cage, so it blows better than stock, but it still takes a while to warm it up. And, yes, it's noisy, but I don't drive on the freeway much. Oh, and I just turned 63.
