OBS Tahoe Driver Side Door Latch - After Market?

Recently purchased an OBS '99 Tahoe, hinge pins and bushings are bad, needing replaced. Has worn the door latch to a point I think would be best to replace it. Question: are the after market door latches an option or better off to go with either a NOS GM replacement or a GOOD original for replacement? Not a real fan of newer after market parts but sometimes have no choice. Possibly use a Dorman replacement, any thoughts are appreciated.

I'd cannibalize a rust bucket truck with a good latch before I'd buy new aftermarket.

Thanks for that reply, guess I would figure something along those lines. Have never been a big fan of reproduction parts. For my '71 Chevelle or my '57 sedan I have always preferred using original GM parts. NOS when I could find and afford such and then refurbished and reworked used original GM parts. Nothing fits and works near as well as original GM. :chevy:

I pillaged and installed a used transfer case shift motor on my 1998 K2500 Suburban transfer case after the new aftermarket motor failed in a few days. I installed it in 2011. It's still working.

I wouldn't hesitate to pillage a known good used GM door latch from a wreck or rust bucket.
