Fuel gauge question

Can you test the gauge? I have an LMC under bed tank with their sending unit. When plugged in the gauge goes up to Empty when the tank is full. It goes below E when fuel is used. Also The wire in the back of the gauge gets hot. New harness from Rebel wiring so I know the wiring is good. Thanks

Re: Fuel gauge question

https://youtu.be/ZTMXjITuO8A pretty much covers it all. Pay attention to the part about '66 and down being a 0-30 ohm and '67 and up being 0-90 ohm. Your guage and your sender need to have the same ohm rating. Perhaps the tank you bought from LMC has a 0-90 ohm sender and you're trying to mate it to your 0-30 ohm guage. (I've been there, done that but in reverse with a 0-90 guage and a 0-30 sender.)
