Any ideas what these were for?

Ok, have a set of these on both doors at the leading edge of the vent windows. I haven't seen side mirrors that use them, but that was my first guess . . . Any ideas?

Possibly some kind of JC Whitney wind deflectors?
Or something to do with exterior mirrors.
[They are not WC Jrs, though.]
CB Antenna mounting brackets?
IDK

Gotta be it. Are they below-the-eyeline?
I wonder why '68 West Coast Jrs were bolted to the top of the door frame then?

I'be been running my C/10 Stepside for 50 years, and I never noticed they were different from the top-of-door frame type WC Jr.
One advantage these have over the other kind is you could put those metal window deflectors on. With the RPO D29 ''RV Jr Mirrors'' the top mount interferes.

Bus Type extension mirrors, RPO D38. Or an aftermarket version like Roberk.
