4x4 engine crossmember question

So a long story short I have a 1965 k10 project (sitting on a square body k10 frame) I need a 4x4 engine crossmember to replace my weird “horse shoe” engine mount I have currently. What I’m wondering is, does anyone make an engine crossmember for these trucks that will work or am I just going to have to pull one from a junkyard? I’ve found a few aftermarket ones but it seems like they are all for LS/LT conversions. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you're installing at least a small lift Off Road Design makes a new crossmember.

are you saying the factory frame crossmember is bent? I have a stock one if you need a replacement. otherwise, the offroad design one is a nice piece.

The one I have at this moment is the “horseshoe mount” it is bolted to the frame and engine right under the harmonic balancer. And my old Bell housing is the rear motor mount. There isn’t a crossmember where the normal engine mounts mount to the side of the block. I got a different transmission and transfer case to replace the old one. Do you happen to have a link to the crossmember you are referring to?

That looks like the original frame. Squares don't have the horse shoe engine mounts. Also with the bolt on spring hangers.

What would you recommend doing to be able to remove that horseshoe mount? Will a square body engine crossmember bolt to my 60’s frame?

Re: 4x4 engine crossmember question

we built a 63 short 4x4 for my nephew several years ago, built on a real 4x4 frame-65 if i remember correctly- and we used cross members from 72 4x4 for the engine and trans, had to drill some holes and it all bolted up without any issues. we used an SM465 205 combo with power steering and disc brake front diff. he has taken that truck all over the western U.S. hunting deer and elk without any problems. if you need help locating 67-72 cross members for the engine and/or trans I have both and i'm sure other members on here can help too. as was stated earlier, your frame is not a squarebody frame, my guess is 66 or older.

I really appreciate your input. It seems that someone did the same to this 65 c10. It has a disc brake front axle also. This was the exact information I was hoping to find. What would you want for the members?
