That does work on most apps,where I have seen the trouble come in is adapting non stock parts,& due to internal differences(some are counter bored for an O ring,some are not).......it was a 400T that gave me fits on shaft lenght. It was measured with a stock yolk.....then the yolk was replaced at the time the shaft was built. after much disscussion (also replacement of the slip yolk), it was explained to me to bottom the yolk,then pull it back 7/8" & measure from there. I just want to pass the info along,that all slip yolks are not the same. my problem was not a dissaster.....i caught it before the car was on the road......69 longhorn.
