I don't see a whole lot of point in it. Especially in a truck without a whole lot of stuff. For consistency check the voltage regulator. Get one of the more expensive $40. Not one of the integrated, sealed up cheap $14 ones. They burn out real quick.
Also you could get an alternator that produces more power.
