Re: New project & forum jumper

Well, I got finished this evening with the insulation. After much research, I thought I would try the Lizard Skin product. It will be some time before I will drive this truck to see just how good this stuff works.
I could not find any detailed info on this stuff so i am postig my thoughts of this product to let all deside what route they might want to go.
The product is expensive at approx. $526.00 with spray gun from Summit.
Another disadvantage is the "spray" application does create some overspray, so be sure to cover everything else up well, besides masking the project.
I put 5 coats of the "SC" (sound control) & still had just a little left over.
The "SC" bucket was 170.00.
The other bucket was the insulation & I got 4 coats out of it.
Total thickness after completion of both products was .080"
Bottom line, my opinion is this stuff better work damn good because it took me all weekend to get the job done. Not tomention the mess I have to clean up. I did my 68 with asphalt mastic sheet (dynamat) & 1/2" thick "jute" backing. This process was less than $200.00, took about the same amount of time, & alot less messy.
I will reserve my final opinion till I take the truck for a spin. I will post some pics of the instl.
