Re: Gas $3.12/gal - What have you done to improve MPG?

put a little diesel in it or a straight 6 if you could get french fry oil for free you can run it in a diesel with a kit this is the cheapest fuel free..I have 2 diesel cars 1.6 litr and 2.4 ..I bet a mercedes 300 diesel could make your truck go fine the car is actually near the same weight as a truck ..not sure about drve train though ..how about the smallest non computer gm or ford diesel crate motor with a 700r4 it would get some fuel economy but not as good as a 4 or 5 cyl MB

hated that Rio. 39mpg was great but whata POS anyhow I now drive a
Scion XB and its a great econobox but I'm still thinking how I could get to
drive the C-10 everyday ? That won't happen anytime soon @ 10 mpg
I prefer the idea of recycling an oldie ,but 3 kids 1 of which lives 160 miles
from me demands that I drive a reliable economy car
I'd gladly spend money to upgrade my truck to get better mpg
things like exhaust , electric fan , lowering (some) newer technology cam
electric ignition all reasonable stuff but EFI and O/D trans gotta think some
on those, $ vs. results hmmmm?
