I had a car that wouldn't stay in fourth (no 5th on it) so I just put a big rubber band on the shifter and tied it to the seat... first to second shifts were awsome, I'd nail the clutch at 4500 (it was a 4 cylinder Citation) and it would instantly pop into second... was cooler than anything you'd seen. While if wouldn't sift like that into 4th, it did hold it there while I drove.
