You didn't say if you have 12 volts at + side of coil with key on. Let us know that before you tear into the ignition switch. Don't get the cart ahead of the horse. As far a your headlight switch. You don't need to have it running to check it. Everything on your switch works the same, key off or key on. If you have 12 volts to + side of coil wire. Pop your dist. cap and make sure your points are opening. If you've been doing a lot of testing with key on and the points happen to be shut, they could have melted together. Old point type dist. do that. That's why they use to have an acc. side to the ignitions switch if you wanted to listen to the radio with engine off. With the key turned to acc. side the points are cold.
