I lift cabs with my engine hoist. I take an 10' 4"X4" and tie it down to the top of the engine hoist. Tie it down so that enough 4x4 runs past the end of the lifting arm to stick past the door opening oppisit the side you will be lifting from. Possition the hoist so that the top of the 4x4 is directly under the verry top front of the door opening. Jack the hoist up untill the 4x4 touches the underside of the door opening oppisit that you are lifting from. Then proceed slowly untill the 4x4 is touching the underside of the door opening on the side you are lifting from. The I drive a couple of nails into the top of the 4x4 to keep the cab from sliding toward you when you lift it and lift away. Works great and I can even load cabs into the back of other pick up trucks using this method. Good luck and this way is a one man operation so you can drink all the beer yourself....
