Re: $75000 truck?

"Restore." To refurbish or bring back to the original state. In the strictest sense of the meaning ....

"Restore" to refurbish or bring back to the original state .... NOT HOW WE THOUGHT THAT IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN, BUT HOW IT WAS!

What we see today are allot of over restored restorations. Fit, finish and detail way beyond what would have been possible for someone to have bought new. This also lowers the value of what is supposed to be an original 100 point restoration in the purist sense of the meaning although most of us dismiss this fact. Reproduction parts abound most of these vehicles like a christmas tree with too much tinsel but they are excepted as original regardless of their poor quality. People like to see their favorite ride restored, decked out and pretty "BUT DO NOT CALL THIS RESTORED."

A true 100 point restoration will use only original parts that were made by the correct manufacturer and fit, finish and detail as what was offered when the vehicle was produced and sold new at that time. In the last 20 years I've seen less then a hand full of vehicles that would fit the true meaning of "Restored."

esll.
