Very true. My instructor in votech, (years ago), made a point of telling the class this. When we walked into the engine room the first time he asked the entire class how many motors were in the room. Every one of us started counting! Then he informs us there were no motors in the room, only engines....
Then he explained the difference..

I said motor once when referring to an engine to the old school guy that does all my machine work. I never made that mistake again.
