It's like a lot of things in life......act like you know what you're doing and people will treat you like you know what you're doing. No...Seriously, I guess it's just a matter of being at the right place at the right time. Real late at night or extremely early in the morning there isn't a lot of traffic out and you can do pretty much what you please. I've had LEOs ride past while I've been out in the street with a tripod and they have yet to stop. Although I did have a security guard at Opry Mills mall in Nashville tell me I wasn't allowed to take photos in the parking lot.
