Actually I stuck my head under an installed one this afternoon, and the consensus is that it can move up with zero ill effects. If you look at the pictures you can see that the bracket bolts to your frame, and the assembly bolts to the bracket. You can simply unbolt the bracket and bolt it to the frame, then relocate the mounting holes (drill 4 of them). You should be able to move the entire assembly up about 1-1/2" and still fill the reservoir with a baster or brake bleed pump.

The only thing that may need to be modified is the pinch weld where the kicker and firewall meet. It'll probably just need to be trimmed a bit.
