I don't have collision or comprehensive on my truck, just liability. With liiability limits set to $250,000 per person, $500,000 total/accident, just liability is $2300/yr.

Do you know how insurance companies classify what "size" vehicle they will cover? I know that a new 3500 Silverado has a GVWR of 10,000+ lbs and a curb weight of <6,000lbs. That gives the truck the ability to haul 2 ton on a 1 rated truck. Will an insurance company cover the vehicle in an accident if it has 2 ton of stone in the bed?

I am going to speak with a couple more local agents (State Farm and one that uses Safeco) tomorrow to see if there is anything else that can be done.
