Since I dismantled the long fleetside bed I've been toying with the idea of using JB Weld to fill in the pitting in the sills and wheel tubs edges, etc.. As you probably know, epoxy is a great resin, far, far (orders of magnitude)tougher than the polyester used in body fillers because of its flexibility and highly water-resistant.
It should also be great for filling seams like fleetside bedsides and the hood.
As always, surface preparation is the key.
