I trimmed to the Tri-Pro patch down to the appropriate size and it would have been a lot easier to weld the hole in the step area before bending it - but oh well.

I cut the hole into a square and then made a patch for it. I then welded in the patch to make the piece look complete again.

I then mocked it back up and took the last picture of the process.
