Have you considered a (electric or air driven) die grinder, a four inch "Razor" buff, a tapered mandrel, and a small brick of polishing compound? (polishing compound can be purchased through Eastwood products, Sears, Harbor Freight, swap meets, or even many local truck stops) I purchased a set of rims a few years back and with a die grinder and the buffs, I cleaned all four rims up in an afternoon. The cost of the rims made th ework well worth it. The die grinder and three small buffs is all you need to restore the finsih, then go back and clean them with a good hand compound and sealer.
