Just got me a 99 gmc ext cab 5.3L automatic with a little under 80k miles. First tank avg.=19.6 mpg. Mostly 50/50 city/hwy with "unleaded foot" keeping her under 2k rpm.
On my second tank, I'm "pushing" her a bit more.
My other ride was a 1989 Astro with a stock 350 TBI. I would get 13-14mpg at it's best.
So I'm happy with the gmc.
