Have you looked @ what a warmed over set of Vortech heads flow compared to the heads you bought.
Just asking. A friend and I built a 6" rod 406 sbc solid tappet motor W/ the VT heads for his dads 63 short box and that thing was a bruiser. It would click off high 12.70's every time at the track.
To keep the cost down a little trick you can do is drill the rocker arm studs and bosses and press in roll pins.
Marv I'm so jealous of your heads. Those make my AFR 227s look amateur.
