You’re right those are some biggens on that there ole beater.
I bought this 72’ at an estate sale for $300 bucks last January along with the 4 flat dry rotted tires mounted on split rims no less. I had just bought a new set of 35” Superswampers and new wheels for my 78’ K10 so I put my old 33’ on 15-inch wheels on the 72’. The 33’s would not fit on the front of the truck so I traded 2 of the 33’s for 2 31’s at some little fly by night tire shop on the bad side of town. I also had to do a little grinding on the calipers and backing plates for the 15-inch wheels to fit.
Including the swapped in HEI, tune up, new seat cover, and belts and hoses I have just a tad over $500 into this truck. Not too bad for a reliable old beater truck…even if it does have too big of tires.
