Before anyone screams "that is too many parts to keep track of", that is BS. I've worked for an online retailer who had millions of items in stock and the site would tell you either on the product page or during the order process if it was out of stock.

i write these kind of systems for a living... how feasible that actually is depends on how good their underlying system is.... ive seen stuff that made it easy, and ive seen total junk that makes something like that almost impossible..
thats why i said call and ask... im sure if it was easy for them, they would have already done it by now... not defending them or anything, but ive worked 'behind the scenes' on several of these projects.. real time inventory tracking can be more complicated then it should be.
