I have had new fuel pumps fail on me and it's better to be sure you have fuel so you can eliminate the fuel pump and look elsewhere. Just put a container on the fuel line to the carb and have someone crank it. If you see fuel you are good to go. Then you can start looking elsewhere. Alot of people on here will help you out with other things to check.
