I've done ours for longer than I care to think about, long before there was software (or computers, for that matter). After TurboTax came out, I used it for several years before switching to Tax Act a few years or so back. For me, it's easier to search for forms and topics then TurboTax.

Maybe I'm wrong, but unless you have a very complex return (and are liable to miss things), I don't know how a CPA will create more money for you. If you enter all the info you are supposed to, the program does the math and there you are.

That said, even with the software, you need to do some digging and searching to make sure you haven't missed something.
