Your good. I welded a thick spacer to go where the bolt goes through to keep the steering shaft on the box as close to the center of the firewall mount. It was an after thought. But it's really strong as it still has the tubes inside the frame so it doesn't squeeze together when tightened.
Here's a view from the top. It's really tight and I had to adjust it. Before I paint it I'll clean it up., and make it look better.
