I want to use the orginial steering column. I need to put a bearing on the end where I cut it. Classic wanted 40 plus ship for the bearing. Found one in town for 8. Gets here friday. 3/4"X1 5/8" A hair big but I think I can make it work. Not sure how it gong to slide on?
Now if I could find some steering u joints for 8 I would be set.
Some guy told me he used a swivel head for a socket wrench.
Do the smooth bore u joints just weld on? Do you think I could grind the shaft and make it a DD or is smooth ok?
